We're seeking a high energy, organized Private Insurance Authorization specialist to join our team.
This is a full-time position.
Job Description Responsible for verifying medical insurance coverage, obtaining authorization for home health care services provided by the agency, and to establish and/or verify proper billing protocol to ensure timely payment by the insurance company.
Requirements:
- 2 years recent work experience as a medical insurance authorization and/or billing specialist in a medical office or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, Medi-Cal, and senior advantage plans.
- High School/GED acceptable; trade school/college medical administration certificate preferable.
- Excellent communication skills both written (emails, letters, faxes) and verbal (phone, one-on-one, group).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Basic PC and Internet browser search engine skills.
- Typing Skills (minimum 50 words per minute).
- Organized - Self-starter - Dependable (punctuality, attendance),and motivated - Comfortable working in a fast paced environment while multitasking.
