Perform law enforcement and crime prevention work within a variety of assignments including Field Operations, Corrections, Investigations, Special Operations, Civil, Court Security, Marine Patrol, Special Enforcement Team, Bomb and Explosive Ordinance Detail, Hostage Negotiations, Air Support Unit, Search and Rescue, Bike Patrol, Off Highway Vehicle Detail, Mounted Unit, and Honor Guard.
Placer County offers an expedited process for qualifying applicants for interviews. Candidates currently employed, or employed within the last year, by a public agency operating under a personnel civil service or merit system may be eligible to be placed on a Public Agency Eligible List and certified as eligible for appointment to a similar job assignment without going through the examination process. Those hired from this process will typically be considered new employees for purposes of determining seniority, benefits, and other leave accruals. Experience: One year of responsible law enforcement training and experience performing duties similar to a Deputy Sheriff I with Placer County.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
